This double-sided Ojibwe rattle was hand crafted and painted by Ojibwe Artistan, Harvey Bonga. The rawhide rattle and cords are made from leather hide and a Diamond Willow stick is used for the handle. Quartz stones make the rattling sound. Carved eagle head tip of the stick. Small feathers. Fur.
The rattle is about 4 inches in diameter. The handle is 14 inches long and made of Diamond Willow. Altogether about 17 inches long. This rattle is new, has never been used ceremonially and was made for sale. Sturdy enough to be used, beautiful enough to be put on display.
Handmade for Bam'idizowigamig Creator's Place by Pine Point Artisans of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe located in Northern Minnesota.
