53 inch beautifully hand carved Diamond Willow hiking staff. This stick has both regular and reverse carved diamonds and only weighs 19 ounces. About 1 inch diameter top to bottom. Hand Braided leather cord passes through a natural pass-through diamond at the top. Tribal elder and artisan Bill Libby respectfully harvested this stick, carved away the thick bark and excess wood in the diamonds, sanded it, stained it and finished it with satin polyurethane.
This staff was made for Bam'idizowigamig Creators Place which is located in the village of Pine Point within the boundaries of the White Earth Nation Reservation in Northern Minnesota.
