Handcrafted Native American Ojibwe Dream Catcher. This dream catcher is made with Red Willow, synthetic sinew, genuine leather strings, pink and white pony beads.
The body of this teardrop shaped dream catcher is about 10 inches tall and 7 1/4 inches wide. A great gift for introducing children to Ojibwe/Anishinaabe culture.

Traditionally, Ojibwe mothers made small dreamcatchers from willow twigs plant fiber or sinew and hung them over their babies and children's places of sleep to catch the bad dreams and allow the good dreams to go through. The web of the dream catcher is fashioned like a spider web, as spiders are considered protectors in Ojibwe tradition. For these reasons, dreamcatchers made and used for protection are sacred objects.

The dreamcatchers made for Bam'idizowigamig Creator's Place are not intended to be used for protection but as authentically and beautifully made ornaments that bring to mind the love of Ojibwe mothers for their children and their desire to protect them from harm.
This dreamcatcher was made by Harvey Bonga, Artisan and Elder of Pine Point; tribal members of the White Earth Nation in Northern Minnesota.
